Mission
The European Society for Pediatric Neurosurgery (ESPN) seeks to promote
the health of children in Europe and throughout the world by encouraging
the ethical transmission and exchange of neuroscientific information
and techniques related to Pediatric Neurosurgery.
History
The Society was founded in 1967 on the occasion of the first European
Congress of Pediatric Neurosurgery held in Vienna, Austria. It is the
oldest international Society dedicated to the neurosurgery of the
developing nervous system.
Activities
ESPN activities focus on the promotion of education of the highest level in the field of Pediatric Neurosurgery.
They comprise:
- a biennial Congress
- a biennial Consensus Conference
- an annual Postgraduate Course, running in 3-year module cycles
- an annual International Hands-on Workshop
- biennial Refresher Courses for graduates of past Courses
